A job opportunity with an International luxury retail operation has arisen for a newly qualified accountant or someone who is part qualified

Salary negotiable according to experience and qualifications

As a Junior Accountant/Finance intern you and the other junior team members will be responsible for some of the accounting duties below

• Managing POS reconciliations and investigations,
• Ensuring accurate alignment between transaction data and bank records.
• Accounts receivables: Credit checking and risk decisions, contract drafting, loading and managing collectees on Zoho Books, drafting or pulling settlement letters and statements for clients.
• Ensuring creditors are correctly recorded and settled.
• Overseeing the client claims process and prepare monthly reconciliation and investigation reports for management accounts, which are presented to the Executive Team.
• Generating and capturing invoices for weekly payments run.
• Ensuring company's internal controls and related systems are adequate and in place.
• Reviewing and approval of customers invoices and credit notes.
• Management and control of the cash drawer register including reconciliation between the point-of-sale system and the bank
• Releasing incoming international payments from clients
• Capturing and loading international payments in USD, EUR, and GBP
• Reconciling company's credit cards.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• VAT reconciliation and submission for both South Africa and for the United Kingdom
• Foreign stock reconciliation: Reconciling invoices with the Goods Received Vouchers and Purchase Orders
• Investigation of both banking and stock variances
• Turnover submission to leasing administrators.
• You will be required to work on the following packages : Sage Pastel, Zoho and SEA.
