Junior Baler Operator

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Junior Baler Operator who will efficiently operate the bailing machine. The ideal candidate must ensure that the bailing machine is in a good condition and must help to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Responsible for safe, smooth and productive operating of the baling machine that has been allocated.

Responsibilities

Productivity and profitable workflow 

• Responsible to achieve maximum productivity from machinery
• Responsible to keep maintenance costs of machinery as low as possible
• Responsible to report low levels of consumables (rope, wire, strapping etc)

• Responsible for maintaining SHEQ standards around machinery
• Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping standards around machinery
• Responsible for controlling the quality of product processed with your machinery
• Make sure that you are properly qualified and certified to operate equipment
• Never allow anyone that is not properly qualified to operate equipment
• Ensure the machine is locked out and a PTW has been issued before maintenance or cleaning on the machine takes place
• Responsible for keeping management informed about the condition of the machine

• Responsible for filling in checklists as per specific equipment requirements
• Responsible to report any malfunctions immediately
• Responsible for basic maintenance of machine (checking oil, grease, etc)
• Responsible to keep machinery and workstation clean and tidy
• Responsible for sorting of waste and general housekeeping

• Operator must be reliable to add value to the team
• Operator will be monitored closely for absenteeism

• Production records are to be kept and submitted regularly
• Operator is expected to keep a diary to record daily tasks and any maintenance done on machinery

• Operating experience dependant on type of machine to be operated
• Minimum 1 year working experience in a similar role
• Literate, able to fill in diary and reports
• Qualification to operate specific machine
