Junior Costing Clerk/Estimator (Manufacturing Joinery)

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a young, creative, and eager-to-learn Junior Costing Clerk/Estimator to join their dynamic team in a shopfitting and joinery manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for detail, be good with numbers, and have a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately calculate and prepare cost estimates for joinery and shopfitting projects.
• Read plans (shopfitting)
• Analyze material, labour, and overhead costs to ensure accurate project pricing.
• Work closely with the production and procurement teams to track cost variations.
• Assist in preparing quotations and cost breakdowns for clients.
• Maintain updated pricing records for materials and components.
• Identify areas where costs can be optimized without compromising quality.

• Understanding of joinery, shopfitting, and manufacturing processes (experience in a similar field is advantageous).
• Strong numerical skills with an analytical mindset.
• Practical and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Young, energetic, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
