Junior Data Analyst

SUMMARY:
Our client in Verulam is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Data Analyst with a background in the construction industry.
In this role, the Junior Data Analyst will play a key part in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support informed decision-making within the company.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in data analytics and a genuine enthusiasm for using data to drive business improvements in the construction sector.

Data Collection & Management:

• Assist in gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources (e.g., project management systems, financial records, production data).
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy by conducting routine data validation and quality checks.
• Collaborate with different departments to understand data requirements and provide data support.

• Analyse construction project data, financial performance, resource allocation, and other key performance indicators.
• Generate regular reports and dashboards to track project progress, cost management, and workforce performance.
• Use data visualization tools to present data insights in an easily digestible format for management and team leaders.

• Assist in identifying trends and patterns in project costs, resource utilization, and team productivity.
• Support the development of predictive models and forecasting reports based on historical data to inform future project planning.

• Work closely with project managers, HR, and other departments to ensure data insights are aligned with operational needs.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve project outcomes and operational efficiency.

• Support the optimization of internal databases to improve data retrieval processes and support better decision-making.
• Assist in maintaining and improving the accuracy of company databases, ensuring that data is up-to-date and accessible.

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certification in Data Analytics or Data Science (e.g., Google Data Analytics Certificate, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or a similar role.
• Familiarity with handling large datasets and extracting insights from project-related data.
• Extensive experience with SQL, Excel, Power BI and other data analysis tools is essential.
• Experience with construction industry-specific data (e.g., cost analysis, project timelines, resource utilization) is a plus.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data in simple terms.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for presenting data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
