SUMMARY:
Junior Data Engineer - Cape Town Based

POSITION INFO:
The tasks you will perform

Design, develop and maintain data structures.
Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, transform, store and share / integrate data across platforms.
Set up and administer database-centred engineering software applications.
Configure and manage data storage solutions including object orientated SQL databases.
Develop advanced digital engineering workflows.
Be a user of the database-centred engineering software generating intelligent engineering drawings and capturing the related engineering information into the database.
Stay up to date with latest developments in the digital engineering and applications industry and specifical as it pertains to mineral processing facilities.
Be trained in the use of database-centred engineering design software and how the various engineering software applications interface with each other, to support ADPâs Digital Transformation Project.
Follow the various (Project specific and company) procedures, plans and protocols required to work efficiently and maintain a consistent approach and high standard of work.Â

The expertise you will bring

Tertiary level qualification in Chemical / Mechatronic / Mechanical / Electric and Electronic Engineering/ Computer Science (BSc) or similar.
Specialised training and/or proven experience in data architecture and data integration using APLâs and software programming.
Knowledge and/or proven experience with object-orientated SQL databases.
Proven experience working in CAD â MicroStation / AutoCAD / SolidWorks.Â
South African Citizen or Permanent Resident (submit a colour copy of your ID or Permanent Residence Permit with your application)
Cape Town based.
Solid technical aptitude, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables, within budget and schedule constraints.
Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
Demonstrate the ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific proprietary software packages relevant to the Engineering discipline.
Well-developed written and verbal communication.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team and knowledge sharing environment.
Demonstrate a practical, creative, and innovative approach to problem solving.
Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
