SUMMARY:
A well-known Speciality Chemical Raw Material Company requires the above to assist with developing the Company’s regional export business across the clusters and maintain sustainable gross profit contribution.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • A tertiary qualification in either a Sciences or Commercial or related qualification is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked in an Export Sales role is preferred.
  • The Company is happy to consider a Salesperson without export experience for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked within the chemical raw material or paints and coatings or detergent or industrial chemical market supplying the manufacturing industry is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience working on Syspro or a related ERP system is preferred.
  • Exposure to IMDG code is preferred.
  • Portuguese speaking person would be ideal for the role but is not essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa with the initial focus in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Angola and Mozambique.
  • Marketing and selling Company products to paints and coatings, detergent and industrial chemical industry.
  • Developing key account plans, formulating strategies and ensuring effective implementation of these as to achieve set sales targets and objectives.
  • Interpreting Customer briefs with the Technical Team as and when needed.
  • Providing technical support to Customers as well as handling and resolving Customer queries.
  • Managing all aspects of the product development process and liaising with Clients to ensure that their needs are met accordingly.
  • Analysing market trends to develop the Company’s market and competitor intelligence.
  • Negotiating pricing with Procurement Managers and New Product Development Technologists.
  • Managing price increases and pricing strategies, revenue, volume, and gross profit.
  • Establishing and maintaining good business relationships.
  • Working on the customer relations management system and sending reports.
  • Maintaining sound market intelligence in each country to ascertain any market trends pertaining to competitor activity, key industry levers that may influence the business over the longer term.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
