POSITION: Junior Financial Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be an integral part of the finance team, managing finance staff and reporting to the Head of Finance. THE OPPORTUNITY

This role forms part of the core financial function of the company. A small team of young, ambitious individuals that collaborate well in a fast-paced environment.

You will be working very closely with the Head of Finance to ensure that key financial information is delivered to all stakeholders. The role entails building on current financial processes to ensure that group reporting is accurate and that the day-to-day accounting function is efficient and well run.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

• Perform all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and overhead cost allocation.

• Preparation of Management accounts, Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance.

• Managing the day-to-day accounting activities.

• Preparation of financial reports.

• Responsibility for VAT / EMP 201 returns and other statutory/regulatory submissions.

• Assist with the development of financial controls, financial policies, procedures and guidelines, risk assessment, and management to ensure that     financial risks are identified and addressed.

• Preparing and reviewing monthly payroll calculations and other ad-hoc duties as required.

• Preparing annual audit documentation for an external audit firm, including closing off, and liaising with auditors.

• Assist with preparing capital raise documentation/due diligence

• Manage and oversee junior staff members, including, training, mentoring, and development of staff.

REQUIREMENTS

Someone who is aligned to our values and approach and:

• 3+ years Financial Management or 5+ years Senior Financial Accountant experience

• Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, etc.), accounting software and databases

• Relevant financial qualifications

• SAIPA qualification or completed SAICA articles will be beneficial

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Ideally coming from a hospitality or property background

• Based in Cape Town (the role is an office job) 

AREA: Cape Town CBD

SALARY: R35K - R40K CTC p.m. (depending on experience)
