About Our Client: Our client is a dynamic logistics company specialising in long-haul road transport, committed to delivering efficient and reliable transportation solutions. Their team thrives on excellence, and they are looking for a Junior Logistics Coordinator to join them in ensuring seamless operations and exceptional client satisfaction.
Role Overview: Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Logistics Coordinator to support their transportation activities. The successful candidate will assist in managing relationships with transporters and clients, handle essential administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in adding new transporters to the existing database and ensure Goods In Transit (GIT) insurance is in place.
- Support in capturing container and template numbers accurately.
- Aid in pre-advising and booking with the harbour.
- Help develop and maintain relationships with transporters and clients.
- Assist in compiling transport contracts using templates.
- Follow up with trucks to confirm accurate Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) and communicate this to clients.
- Send Verified Gross Mass (VGM) certificates to clients.
- Build relationships with loading and off-loading points, identifying key stakeholders.
- Handle daily administrative functions: input load data into the computer database, and reconcile Proof of Deliveries (PODs) and loading weights.
- Collect PODs as required.
- Address client, transport, and supplier-related queries efficiently.
- Be available for after-hours contact with relevant parties, 7 days a week.
Experience and Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Logistics is advantageous.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
- Solid knowledge of the transport market.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in email etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills.
- Ability to work well within a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Availability for after-hours phone queries and problem-solving.
Working Conditions: The position involves standard office hours from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. After-hours availability is required for phone queries and problem-solving on a 7-day basis.
Salary: The role offers a competitive salary package, with a Cost to Company (CTC) ranging from R16 000 to R18 000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
