Junior Hardware Engineer

A defence company in Cape Town is seeking a Junior Electronic Hardware Engineer.

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Electronic Hardware Engineer to join our team.

As a Junior Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will work alongside a team of experienced Engineers to design, develop, and test hardware systems. You will gain hands-on experience in a range of engineering tasks, including circuit design, PCB layout, prototyping, and debugging. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in electronic hardware development and contribute to cutting-edge projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and development of electronic hardware for new products.
• Support the design and testing of PCB layouts and schematics.
• Assist with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits.
• Participate in the development of technical documentation and reports.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Software Engineers and Product Managers to ensure successful product development.
• Conduct and support design reviews and evaluations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and systems.
• Familiarity with tools such as CAD for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad, etc.).
• Experience with circuit simulation and analysis software (e.g., SPICE).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot electronic systems.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability to new technologies.
