SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry has an opportunity available for a Junior Metallurgist to be based in the Brits area.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

NQF 6 (Diploma Advanced Certificate) in Extractive Metallurgy or engineering or
NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical or engineering.
At least 3 years’ experience in Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and Chrome process environment.
Experience in Hydrometallurgical/Minerals Processing Plant Operation
Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety legislation and Government legislation applicable to the mining industry
Relevant computer skills (MS Office and SAP).
Valid drivers’ licence

KPAs:

Maintain occupational health and safety standards when performing tasks
New technology must comply with health and safety legislation
Identify expansion possibilities to the plant manager and manager metallurgical operations.
Make recommendations and carry out projects to optimise performance of the plant and material recovery
Monitor and analyse control reports from the plant
Monitor performance of instrumentation and computers
Supply support and detailed information to the plant manager and manager metallurgical operations
Ensure that chemical disposal is done according to environmental specific requirements
