An NPO in George is looking for a Junior PR Officer to join their team!
If you’re passionate about animals and want to help raise awareness, promote initiatives, and engage with the public, this is the perfect role for you!
You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance your skills with courses and training related to the position and the NPO's work.
Responsibilities:
- Support PR and communications efforts by managing social media
- Draft press release
- Deal with the media
- Organise and plan events
- Raise awareness of animal welfare issues through creative campaigns and content creation
- Attend inspector/field officer courses in Johannesburg
- After hours support if needed
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (3rd language is beneficial)
- Driver's licence and own vehicle
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Computer and social media savvy
- Structured, attention to detail and ability to plan
- Highly organised, creative, adaptable and a team player
