SUMMARY:
The Product Engineer Optical Fibre Cables will design and develop fibre optic cables based on international standards and requirements given by the customer’s application. Spanning from proof-of-concept to final product qualification, the Product Engineer works closely with the Sales Team and our customers to find innovative solutions. The Product Engineer also works closely with Process Engineers, Test Technicians and production personnel to implement the necessary engineering standards required to manufacture a quality product.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant technical / engineering fields.
A good understanding of materials technology relevant to cable manufacture.
At least 1 to 2 years of working experience in fields relevant to the requirements of this job description.
Excellent knowledge of software tools (MS Office and CableBuilder).
Design and development of optical fibre cables according to internal specifications, international specifications or customer supplied specifications.
Work with the Sales and Marketing team to translate technical requirements by customers into existing products and propose new product ideas.
Coordination of prototype production and prototype deliveries, including first article inspections.
Coordinate and lead testing and inspection required by certification authorities.
Participation in international trade shows and conferences.
Work with process engineering to develop production processes for new products.
Technical documentation of products, solutions, and development projects.
Design performance studies, the implementation of the experimental tests, and documentation.
Act as a subject matter expert for specific techniques, processes, and equipment.
