Growing, specialist manufacturing company and part of a larger group, seeks a Junior Purchasing Officer to assist in the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies required for the manufacture of their product.
 
The role involves coordinating with suppliers, tracking stock levels, and ensuring smooth purchasing operations while maintaining accurate records and cost control.
 
Minimum 3-5 years relevant working experience in procurement / purchasing is required together with a stable work track record. Duties will include:

Purchasing & Supplier Coordination

• Assist in sourcing and ordering raw materials, chemicals, and packaging required for paint production.
• Collect and compare supplier quotations to ensure cost-effective purchasing.
• Follow up with suppliers to confirm order delivery timelines and report any delays.
• Maintain a list of approved suppliers and update contact details as needed.

• Check stock levels for key raw materials and packaging items and alert the team when replenishment is needed.
• Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure purchased materials match stock requirements.
• Help in monitoring usage patterns to prevent overstocking or shortages.

• Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) and track their approval status.
• Maintain accurate purchase records for auditing and cost-tracking purposes.
• Update procurement spreadsheets and supplier databases regularly.
• Assist in reconciling supplier invoices with purchase orders to ensure correct billing.

• Ensure purchases are made within the allocated budget and report any price increases.
• Help in identifying cost-saving opportunities through supplier comparisons.
• Assist in maintaining price lists and updating cost records for raw materials.

• Use Excel to keep track of purchases, suppliers, and stock levels.
• Update and maintain basic Excel spreadsheets for procurement reporting.
• Utilize simple Excel formulas, filtering, and sorting functions for data management.
