Graduate or Junior Test Analyst required for a company in Edinburgh (remote) with some big-name clients!
They are an organisation with several different software systems for their customers and employees, who are in a crucial stage of growth (going from 200 to 300 over the course of the year).
They have a small but influential technical team in place (they have a tech-centric philosophy in place), consisting of a Technical Lead, Senior QA Engineer, Front-End Developer and Back-End Developer. Right now, they are turning away work (they care about work-life balance!), but with the team settled and strong foundations in place, they are keen to double the team to start to work on some more projects.
This means that there will be plenty of variety in your day-to-day role - and with this comes lots of learning and development opportunities.
Your focus will initially be on manual software testing, but if you have a passion for automation testing, this is something the team can train you up on and get you involved in. All they ask is that you have some experience in software testing, an understanding on software testing principles (and how this relates to software development) and a willingness to learn!
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
** Some software testing experience
** Agile environment
** An understanding of software testing principles
** Git
Bonus points for:
** API testing
** CI/CD pipelines
** Mobile testing
** Automation testing
The team are friendly and laid back, with a collaborative attitude to working and solving problems - and the Technical Lead is passionate about knowledge sharing.
The salary on offer is up to circa £25,000 but this flexible for the right person, plus benefits.
Benefits includes holidays (plus extra days off for Christmas Eve, your birthday, moving house, getting married/civil partnership); bonuses for important events (e.g. £500 baby bonus): enhanced sick pay, maternity and paternity pay; and mental health support. On top of this, there are plans to develop the benefits package further over the next six months to include private health care; additional days off for important events (like your child's first day at school); and more inclusive policies (think pregnancy loss, or fertility treatment).
This role is fully remote, but ideally you will be based in Scotland (where the majority of the tech team are based) or fairly local to Manchester to pop into the office on occasion.
Interviews will be held remotely, with two stages - an initial chat, and a longer interview.
If being part of a company offer serious long-term growth opportunities and the chance to get involved in a pipeline of really interesting work sounds appealing, please do apply and/or get in touch with Erin at Cathcart Associates.
