Job Summary:
Our client in Witbank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their legal team as a Junior/Candidate Attorney on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in law and a desire to develop their legal skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Junior Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys on a wide range of legal matters and will be responsible for conducting research, drafting legal documents, and providing general support to the legal team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of legal issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Assist with document review and discovery.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Attend depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.
- Assist with case management and trial preparation.
- Stay current on legal developments and assist with legal updates and training for the legal team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by senior attorneys.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Finished with articles.
- Experience as a conveyancer.
- 1-2 years post admission legal experience.
- LLB Law Degree.
- Admission to the state bar in good standing.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software (E4).
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Fluent in Afrikaans.
