Laboratory Technician

SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Laboratory Technician to join their dynamic team in East London.

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: 

• Responsible for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of materials and plant processes (e.g. metal pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure strict adherence to the company quality standards. 
• Use analytical techniques and chemical knowledge to assist with investigations and problem solving. 
• Conducts material evaluation as per the ISIR process. 
• Conducts calibration/verification of equipment. 
• Ensures adherence to SHEQ standards. 
• Responsible for self-development.

• Minimum NQF 7 - Degree in Chemistry or relevant equivalent
• 3 years’ experience working in a chemical laboratory 
• Experience with automotive coatings, metal pretreatment and e-coat processes would be advantageous
• Experience with various analytical techniques - e.g. Karl Fischer titration, scanning electron microscope, FTIR spectrophotometer – and test methods e.g. titrations. 
• Analytical and conceptual thinking. 
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. 
• Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function.
