JOB DESCRIPTION:

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

 

  1. To teach Mathematics Educationand Computer literacy to undergraduate students
  2. To contribute to faculty administration as required.

  • Facilitate the learning and teaching processes in the faculty
  • Participate in academic engagement
  • Participate in faculty administration
  • Conduct, publish and promote research

CORE COMPETENCIES

 

  • Facilitation of learning
  • Teaching students how to teach Mathematics and ICT in undergraduate programs
  • A sound knowledge of strategies for assessing learning in Mathematics and ICT
  • Ability to adapt the teaching of Mathematics  and ICT to the diversity of interests and aptitudes of students
  • Ability to develop teaching materials in Mathematics  and ICT
  • Conducting scholarly work with an increasing focus on Africanization and decolonization of Mathematicsand ICT.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Relevant M Ed in Mathematics Education and IT qualification
  • A sound disciplinary and content knowledge in Mathematics
  • A sound knowledge of offering ICT in Education
  • A sound knowledge of various techniques for teaching ICT in Education
  • Experience (2+ years) in teaching Mathematics at Intersen Level and ICT
  • Mathematics Teaching at SP/FET or University level will be an added advantage
