JOB DESCRIPTION:

Short Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure all products are packed effectively on the line according to the planned schedule.

Responsibilities:

Production
- Pack product according to production schedule as instructed by the Packaging Plant Manager and Line Supervisor.
- Responsible for the setup of the specific line equipment worked on throughout the shift.
- Effective operation of the production line to ensure maximum line efficiencies throughout shift.
- Report maintenance issues to the Packaging Plant Manager, Line Supervisor and Maintenance team.
- Assist the Maintenance team at all times when working on the equipment.
- Ensure the final product is packed in the correct configuration during palletizing.
- Assist with the blending of all necessary blends as instructed by the Packaging Plant Manager and Line Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean-as-you-go principle to ensure line equipment is clean and hygienic at all times.
Raw Material
- Assist the Line Supervisor to ensure that the correct packaging materials are received.
- Ensure all damaged material is stored in the correct identified container and reported accurately.
- Ensure all unused materials are identified, quantified and returned to stores after production.
Quality
- Ensure continuous process and quality checks are being performed.
- Ensure effective housekeeping of area of responsibility.
- Comply with safety, food safety, and environmental procedures as per SOILL Policy.

Key Competencies:

Education and Experience

Minimum of a Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
Able to speak and write in fluent English
Previous experience working on bottling lines

Interpersonal Skills

High attention to detail
Disciplined and reliable
Must be able to work in a team and alone
