SUMMARY:
We have an opportunity for an IT Systems Administrator with an International Client.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent (essential)
Related tertiary qualification (desired)
Experience in a related field e.g. DevOps, Software Development, SysAdmin (essential)
Linux experience (distribution - Debian, Ubuntu) (essential)
macOS experience (essential)
SaltStack (can learn on the job).
Experience with an orchestration tool required (SaltStack, Ansible, Puppet, )
MySQL/ Percona
Nginx
Windows Server experience (essential)
Knowledge of agile methodologies
Knowledge of cloud technologies
Knowledge of SysAdmin standards and technologies
Knowledge of networking
Knowledge of securing infrastructure
Knowledge of database administration

Competencies

Scripting experience: Bash, Python,
Ability to manage internal and external projects from inception to completion
Attention to detail, ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Extensive technical knowledge across various technologies
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good understanding and familiarity with cloud infrastructure
Experience with Database management: MySQL
Experience with Logging and security hardening; system documentation and
Deep understanding of security and privacy by design principles
Good understanding of SysAdmin principles, processes and tools
Build staging and development environments when needed
Ensure backups are regularly made and have automated backup recovery testing
