Logistic Coordinator Administrator

POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking a highly organised and communicative Logistic Coordinator Administrator to join their team. This role will focus on managing the administration of the Logistics Container Department, ensuring efficient operations and building strong relationships with transporters and clients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Add new transporters to the existing database and ensure GIT insurance is in place.
• Capture container and template numbers accurately.
• Pre-advise and book with the harbour.
• Develop and maintain relationships with transporters and clients.
• Compile transport contracts using templates.
• Follow up with trucks to confirm accurate ETAs and communicate this to clients.
• Send VGM’s to clients.
• Build strong relationships with loading and off-loading points, identifying key role players.
• Handle daily administrative functions: feed all load data into the computer database, and reconcile PODs and loading weights.
• Collect POD’s as required.
• Address client, transport, and supplier-related queries efficiently.
• Be available for after-hours contact with relevant parties, 7 days a week.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

• A tertiary qualification in Logistics would be an advantage.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Strong ability to prioritise and work well under pressure.
• Solid knowledge of the transport market.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in e-mail etiquette and MS Outlook with good writing skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Availability for after-hours phone queries and problem-solving.

Working Hours: The position will involve rotating shifts:

• SHIFT 1: 06:00 – 15:00
• SHIFT 2: 13:00 – 22:00
