MAINTENANCE FOREMAN

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Biotechnology industry is looking for a highly skilled and versatile Maintenance Foreman is required to oversee the maintenance of the plant, equipment, and environment. The role requires ensuring the facility operates efficiently and meets GMP and ISO 9001 standards, allowing for the seamless manufacture of products.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is key, as the role may require overtime and work outside of normal office hours depending on operational demands to join their team in Pretoria, Gauteng.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Qualified Artisan (Millwright, Fitter, Electrician, Boiler Maker) OR Industrial/Mechanical Engineer (preferred)
• Experience in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Minimum 5 years’ managerial Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, boilers, HVAC, PLC systems)
• Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
• Expertise in the maintenance of refrigeration systems.
• Ability to operate an HVAC system, RO system, and Chlorination system and strong understanding of filtration systems
• Contribute to the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of new equipment and process improvements in collaboration with the Operations Manager and QA Department.
• Plan and manage the maintenance budget, including CAPEX & Turnkey projects.
• Ensure compliance with Quality System, brand, and methodologies while contributing to their continuous improvement.
• Maintain building and premises according to operational needs, documenting and communicating all landlord correspondence.
• Assist team leaders in urgent maintenance matters to ensure that production schedules are met, including after-hours work and emergency callouts
• Experience in handling hazardous materials
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team-orientated environment 
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License
• MS Office and Extended systems advantageous
