MARKETING ASSISTANT INTERN – CPT and / or JHB

6 MONTH CONTRACT – Start Immediately!

R7 000 – R8 500 Per Month

Our client, an established Waste Management concern, is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Assistant Intern who has gained some consumer and event marketing experience to join their dynamic and vibrant Marketing team of professionals.

One would describe you as a passionate individual who has a natural care for people and our environment.  You have effective communications skills across various platforms and have the ability to multi-task whilst being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

The purpose of role is to ensure that the marketing plan is carried out effectively, assisting in key areas such as social media, event management, digital marketing, campaign roll-out and consumer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & PR:

Event management and attendance.

Social media community management.

Digital marketing assistance.

Assist the Marketing Coordinator with the timely delivery of the communications strategy, such as calendar roll-out, as well as ensuring brand assets, and activity write-ups are categorized and ready to access when working with internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in developing a social media strategy for each of the company’s brands and assist with the implementation and execution of the strategy.

This includes content creation and social media community management.

Assist in creating engaging content highlighting company activities (including collating news stories and images) for marketing materials, social media, websites and PR.

Assist with the creation of marketing materials, including concept, design and copy).

Assist the Marketing Team with external agency communications.

Assist with sourcing and coordinating freelancers, including designers, photographers, videographers and event teams.

Organize and coordinate launches and other events.

Manage the inventory of marketing collateral and logistics thereof.

Take photos and videos at events, ensuring POPIA compliance at all times.

Set up events (such as conference stands and education initiatives).

Order and maintain the inventory of marketing collateral and promotional material

Marketing Administration:

Manage the image banks for company’s brands.

Deliver monthly reports on marketing activity, inventory, logistics and performance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Marketing and / or Communications related Diploma or Degree

Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

Experience in Social Media Online Reputation Management as well as social media content ideation and contribution and / or project or campaign assistance

Experience with design programmes (MailChimp, Photoshop and InDesign) beneficial

Ability to speak more than one South African language is advantageous

High photography skill level (Cell phone or DSLR).

Basic design skills are a bonus.

Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
