REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in either: Pharmaceuticals, Nutrition or Dietetics – essential.
  • Sales and Marketing experience in the Network Marketing Industry an advantage; if not in Network; Sales and Marketing experience in Retail/FMCG space - essential.  
  • Preparedness and availability to travel and work on weekends when required. (Across Africa – sometimes for longer than a week at a time)
  • Well-groomed and attention to detail is essential
  • Health-conscious individual that has a passion for nutritional supplements -essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a commitment to service
  • Results-oriented and strong presentation skills – essential.
  • Computer literacy - essential

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: PURPOSE:

  1. A Product Manager leads the strategy, planning, delivery, marketing, and in-life optimisation of a product.
  2. They will develop a vision and roadmap for the product based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight.
  3. They will develop a forecast for the product based on input from marketing, sales, market analysts and their own experience and manage its delivery.
  4. They will identify the key benefits and value of products. This will be used to create and maintain marketing plans and collateral (including web updates, product training materials and Field – Development and Support Training)

MAIN TASKS        

The role is directly accountable for the following outputs, which constitute the Main Tasks of the position:

Oversee product department and service Distributors/Customers by:

  • Translate business strategy into product strategy  
  • Own the product roadmap /Execute product strategy  
  • Drive action throughout the organisation to get products to the market  
  • Plan and carry out product launches.
  • Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market  
  • Provide product marketing with insights on key differentiators and messages  
  • Manage all aspects of company products, including Distributor/Customer feedback, requirements including handling questions and complaints from Distributors.
  • Conducting training on product knowledge for Distributors and Staff.  This will include use of Zoom/Webinars or physical meetings in areas/countries that the company operates within.
  • Liaising with other departments e.g., Quality Assurance, Field Support and other areas of Marketing to ensure efficient running of the department.
  • Attending meetings and seminars related to health/nutritional supplements and cosmetics/skincare industries.
  • Involved in new product development through communicating with the SAB. (Scientific Advisory Board)
  • Updating product literature and other resource material for the department.  
  • Collect, manage and maintain traceability of requirements from all stakeholders across product releases.
  • Propose a product marketing plan and budget and then deliver against it
  • Be the recognized expert in the business on the product, the market, relevant technology and the competition.
  • Perform product demos to customers and develop relationships with Key Distributors.
  • Monitor, report and improve product performance
  • Commission market and competitor research
  • Evangelize the product internally and externally
