JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to hire a hard-working and skilled machine operator

Duties & Responsibilities

The Ribbon Slitter Operator must ensure the quality of the product is up to the customer’s standards.
Ensure that the slitting machine is in a good condition and ensure that the DIE is sharpened if its blunt.
Responsible to ensure that the blades on the machines are always renewed for highly quality production and to avoid poor quality.
Responsible to ensure that the rolls are clean.
The Ribbon Slitter Operator is responsible for the safe set up and operation of the equipment within the department and looking after equipment and the safe storage of the equipment.
The individual must ensure conformance to all Health and Safety Policies, Rules and Regulations and general housekeeping standards, and prevent Non-Conformances.
Manufactures orders within given time limit.
Conduct general machine maintenance as set out by the maintenance plan dictated from Management.
Ensures correct core size/ correct size ribbon is used for the manufacturing of a specific job as per the job card.
Limits waste of material, set up to be done within allowed set up boundaries set out by management.
Follow the SOP before and after running the machine.
Operates the rewinding machine to check for errors.
Work with the packer to ensure products are loaded correct order.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as machine operator.
