Machine Tool Setter, East London

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Machine Tool Setter for a permanent role, based in East London, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
 

• Grade 12 with Machine Tool Setter or Fitting & Turning Trade Test qualification essential
• Knowledge of IATF quality systems related to machine shop
• 3-5 years production/technical experience in a manufacturing environment / production facility in a Machine Shop Department
• Ability to set/maintain all machines within the Machine Shop including writing programs for the CNC Machines

• Be able to program CNC machine Centers & Lathes.
• Load programmes and set machines
• Have the ability to read micrometers & verniers
• Able to measure accurately with precision measuring instruments
• Be able to interpret Engineering drawings
• Be able to create and read programs
• Work independently, unsupervised
• File programs and new programs in a user-friendly format
• Reduce cycle times per operation
• Operating CNC machine
• Clocking jigs, vices & tools on CNC machine work area
• Sorting, setting tools & holders
• Ability to re-sharpen all kinds of cutting tool (drills, form etc)
• Perform necessary maintenance on equipment
