Maintenance Engineer

POSITION INFO:

A well-established Conveyor Belt Company in Boksburg, Gauteng is looking for a Maintenance Engineer who will primarily be responsible for the maintenance and installation of a variety of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electronic systems including plant improvement activities within the organization.

Main job function

Ensure plant availability and reliable operation of machinery
Provide detailed process guidance to the operation of power equipment
Investigation and resolution of any unsafe methods that may result from unsafe act or working conditions arising from any deviation from set operating practices
Install and maintain computer numerical controlled equipment
Apply safety instructions with regard to: Safety regulations and procedures, chemical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment, lifting procedures, back injury prevention, flammable storage, housekeeping and firefighting training
Arrange, maintain and install wiring in the factory buildings in accordance with wiring plans
Size and install conduits, conductors, switches, outlets and junction boxes
Calculate power requirements for electrical systems (conductors, protective devices, physical protection)
Perform periodic switchgear maintenance of relays and control switches; troubleshoot switchgear circuits and control switches; replace circuit components (instrument meters, surge protectors, relays, control switches).
Interpret plans, sketches, diagrams (electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic), and specifications - identify all terms and symbols.
