Maintenance Fitter

SUMMARY:
Our client, in the FMCG Manufacturing Industry, is seeking a skilled individual for a Maintenance Fitter role based in Port Elizabeth. 

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Trade Test or relevant artisan qualification.
• Qualified Red Seal Artisan.
• 5 years post-qualifying experience in a production environment/maintenance environment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• HACCP and GMP knowledge will be advantageous.
• Experienced in welding of stainless steel, mild steel and alloy steel will be advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to do minor electronic fault-finding will be advantageous.
• Must be willing and available to attend to callouts after hours.

• Conducting and coordinating all maintenance on machinery and equipment in the departments.
• Completing maintenance checks and programs for each machine as per schedule.
• Building an inventory of spares for the machines and controlling spares usage and costs.
• Properly maintaining maintenance records as per requirement.
• Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
• Attending to breakdowns.
• Ordering of necessary equipment and tools for the factory when necessary.
• Fault identification, fixing of root cause analysis and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
• Coach, mentor and train apprentices as may be required.
