SUMMARY:

A leading vegetable farming business specializing in cultivating and distributing high-quality fresh produce is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright to be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing farm/factory equipment and machinery to ensure efficient operations.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Must be a Certified Millwright (Red Seal)
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Millwright on a farm
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on pumps is essential
Willingness to work in a farm environment and adapt to seasonal workload variations
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment
Ability to work independently and within a team
Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards is essential
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Must be proficient in Afrikaans (Written and Spoken)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, including tractors, irrigation systems, and harvesting equipment.
Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
Installing, maintaining, and upgrading electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment components.
Ensuring all farm machinery complies with safety and operational standards.
Collaborating with farm management to ensure timely and efficient resolution of equipment issues.
Maintaining records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections.
Monitoring spare parts inventory and ordering replacements as required.
Training equipment operators on proper usage and basic maintenance practices.
Ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
Assisting with the implementation of new technologies or farming machinery.
