SUMMARY:
One of South Africa's Banking Giants is looking for a Manager:  Decision Science to ensure the objectives, plans, processes, and standards within Client Experience Delivery teams function align with those of Credit Decision Science and Credit Management as a whole.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Performance Areas:
  • Provide expert input to underpin strategic and effective credit decision management
  • Delivery of data and analytics to support the operational management of the Credit function
  • Relationship and stakeholder management to facilitate, drive and deliver effective credit decision support
  • People Management
  • Reporting
Job Requirements:
Qualifications: 
Minimum: 
  • Honours Degree in Data Science / Informatics / Analytics / Risk Management (i.e., B. Comm (Statistics), B. Informatics)
Ideal:
  • Masters Degree in Data Science / Informatics / Analytics / Risk Management (i.e., B. Comm (Statistics), B. Informatics)
Knowledge & Experience:
Minimum Knowledge: 
  • Analytics
  • Project management methodologies
  • IT implementation cycle
  • Credit cycle
  • Technical understanding and knowledge of different operating systems / databases / programming languages
  • General business acumen to identify the impact technical issues may have on design and delivery of solutions.
  • Best practices and tools in credit risk
  • Interpretation of user requirements and translation into business requirements specifications
  • Retail credit environment / industry
  • Confidentiality and intellectual property implications and constraints
  • Interpretation of user requirements
  • Translation of business requirements into business requirement specifications
  • HR Management policy and procedure
  • People management skills and techniques
Minimum Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years credit risk analytics environment experience
  • Minimum 2 years management experience including.
    • People management
    • Project management experience
  • Extraction and aggregation of data from large relational databases
  • Data science and predictive modelling
Ideal:
 Experience: 
  • 5+ years’ credit risk analytics environment experience
  • Credit Retail
  • Relationship and stakeholder management
  • Machine learning.
