Position Summary
Perform driving duties to ensure efficient and timely delivery and collection of between dedicated local Logistics Authorities
POSITION INFO:
Key Accountabilities or Principal Responsibilities
Driving Delivery and Collections
Collection of Airfreighted samples for Woolworths from airport, and delivery to their Head Office
Collection and deliveries to Port Health, State Vet, NRCS, CHS, ICS, Diamond Shipping
Plan the most efficient routes, taking into account delivery requirements and traffic conditions
Adhere to schedules to ensure all deliveries and collections are completed as per required time schedule
Use GPS and other navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries.
Interact with customers in a polite and professional manner, responding to any questions they might have.
Adhere to all road safety and driving regulations, as well as company policies.to ensure safe driving practices.
Maintain accurate vehicle records of deliveries and collections as required
Perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time, which may be necessary for operational requirements
Administration of Documentation as required by Freight Authority
Completion of Port Health Documents as per requirement
Completion of documents as per relevant shipping line own specific requirements
Completion of Service requests and permits where required for foods (animal and human consumption)
Emailing of documentation for submission as required
Vehicle Maintenance
Ensure the vehicle is in good working condition before starting the day, checking the oil, tires, and other important components.
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the delivery vehicle, reporting all issues to on-site Management
Maintain vehicle in a reasonable and clean condition
It should be noted that, for operational reasons, it may be necessary to perform tasks other than those described herein from time to time.
Prescribed procedures may be amended by management as and when required
Qualification Requirements and work-related experience
Grade 12
Valid driver’s licence (Code 08) with clean driving record
Min 2-year delivery driving experience, preferably in similar role in the freight industry
Basic computer experience
Basic administration experience
Minimum Knowledge Requirements
MS Office: basic knowledge with email and excel experience
Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance
