Key Responsibilities:
Effective administration of metal accounting system, procedures and reporting systems.
Monitor production results from operations and compile and analyze production data to identify and illustrate specific trends.
Compile timely and accurate daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
Compile, consolidate and analyze detailed information pertaining to PGM concentrate delivered to smelters.
Monthly reagent and process consumable consumption reports.
Prepare ad-hoc technical reports or presentations as required by management.
Share and present relevant findings at technical forums or production meetings.
Assistance in terms of annual production planning.
Assist with cost/benefit returns and business models for improvement projects.
Perform routine plant visits / engagements and ad-hoc audits of individual plant metal accounting processes and systems at respective Western and Eastern Limb operations, which may require you to stay-over overnight in the area.
Assist with implementation of, and maintaining technical standards and procedures for group.
Provide input in terms of some process design and plant improvement initiatives.
Analysis and benchmarking of key production parameters and cost components such as reagents and consumables, re-mining, etc.
Good employee relations and effective people management and two-way communication with metallurgical personnel.
Knowledge / Education Requirement:
Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering Degree.
Advanced Metal Accounting knowledge and experience.
Post Graduate qualification might be advantageous.
Must have plant processing knowledge; PGM flotation and chrome recovery plant experience will be advantageous.
Minimum 3 -5 years post qualification experience in mining metallurgical field.
Must have excellent computer literacy, excellent Excel, database and presentation skills.
Must be in possession of a valid certificate of fitness.
Must have a valid code 8 driver’s license.
