SUMMARY:
Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Metrologist to join their dynamic team in Rossyln.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description:

Layout inspection of components to fulfil drawing requirements
Write programs and conduct measurements on CMM machine
Conduct measurements on Scanning arm
Maintenance and management of the gauge calibration system in line with company’s SOP
Monthly reports issued to all process owners of calibrations next due/past due
Dimensional evaluation of in-house and bought-out components and assemblies in accordance with the relevant drawings
Review of out of specification criteria and suggestion of countermeasure proposals together with the project/quality engineers
Responsible for the accuracy of recorded measurement data
Accurate numbering of drawings for the ISIR and MDR reports
Form part of new project development teams
Development of measurement methods for individual components
Assist with In-House testing for ES Testing/Project Testing
Assist with External Testing, obtaining quotation & farming out parts for testing
Conduct metrology measurement, perform surface table dimensional evaluation
Care and maintenance of capital equipment
Continuous improvement
Prompt action with relevant process owners when calibrations are past due
Principal use of measuring aids (Sine Bars, V Blocks & Angle plates)
Set-Up principals of surface table, profile projector, 3D CMM
Principal use of Profile Projector
Drawing experience (Datums, tolerances, geometric principals).
Trigonometry (Angle & Sine Bar)
3D CMM (Measurement, Orientations and Origins)
Computer literacy (Report Writing, program writing, focus, polyworks etc)
Calibration (Documentation, procedures, masters, comparative)

Job Requirements:

Matric
National Technical Diploma (N6 or S6) or National Technical Certificate or qualified Artisan/Metrologist
MSA-3D CMM experience Monitory
5 Years Metrology Laboratory & Test Lab experience, preferably in an automotive component manufacturing environment
