Millwright/Service Technician – Klapmuts - R45,000 - R55,000 per month
This senior position is responsible for ensuring ongoing planned preventative maintenance and reducing unplanned breakdowns. A strong background in mechanical fitting and electrical work is required. An ability to read engineering drawings and assess machinery condition for improved reliability is critical. Seeking to solve recurring issues and not have any comebacks. Under minimal guidance and supervision, execute operating procedures and works instructions to inspect, troubleshoot, manufacture, modify, repair, and maintain plant equipment and machinery as well as providing technical support to the operations team to realize maximum equipment / machinery reliability and availability for production requirements.
Requirements:
Trade Test certificate / NQF level 4 Millwright Certificate
Grade 12 / N3 with Trade Theory, Mathematics and Science
Code 08 driver’s license & own transport
Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) – Planning and preventative maintenance
Computer literate (Microsoft Suite)
Minimum Work Experience:
5 years'' experience as a Millwright. Must be strong technically on fitting work.
Must be physically fit
Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Must be certified to work with high voltage
Key Performance Areas
With minimal guidance and supervision, execute operating procedures and works instructions to maximize equipment availability and reliability for operational purposes by :
Regularly plant inspections, reporting of defects and unsafe practices
Carrying out preventative maintenance as per schedule
Conducting repairs to plant equipment / machinery
Perform troubleshooting on plant equipment / machinery, identify, make recommendations, and resolve problems
Manufacture / modify equipment / machinery parts and spares to ensure maximum availability of equipment
Report deviations and non-conformances
Participate in the planning and execution of projects, shutdown to ensure that services are delivered on time, on per design, safely and within budget
Perform standby duties as per the standby roster
Adhere to Company Policies, Procedures, Works Instructions and Job Instructions according to set requirements
Implement SHEQ, housekeeping and the relevant workshop procedures to ensure that the workshop, workplace, tools and equipment is kept clean and safe for operation at all times
Contain expenditure to ensure that funds are optimally utilized in service delivery
Conform to all safety OHSA / MHSA regulations
Determine what the problem is on the equipment/machinery and the resolution thereof
Action safety precautions before reporting them
