Mine Overseer

Minimum Requirements:

• Standard 10/Grade12
• Fiery Mines Blasting Certificate.
• Mine Overseers certificate of competency for coal mines
• Gas testing certificate.
• Valid driver’s license (Code EB/08)
• Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office software.
• Stooping experience
• Board and pillar mining
• Dyke and fault development
• Management and training of people
• Systems implementation, Safety driven, cost control, production targets and compliance
• KPI driven systems
• Short term and long-term planning

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper observation of the regulations and compliance with lawful order given in the interests of safety and health, by every person employed in the area of responsibility
• Ensure effective resource utilization and optimization.
• Evaluate theoretical concepts and design improvements.
• Develop and maintain a document management system to ensure efficient storage and access of information.
• Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice and report deviations.
• Ensure adherence and compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental processes.
