Test Engineer with automation experience and mobile testing experience for a company in Glasgow (in office one day a week).
This company create products that ensure security and protection for third party applications across pretty much every conceivable platform (Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, desktop etc.) - many of us use their software every day without knowing it! The company have been operating successfully in Glasgow for just over 20 years now (with additional offices across the globe), and they are well respected in the tech community.
They have three main products, but the focus will be across their application for iOS, as they have identified that this product is not quite a mature as the others. You will be working as part of the global team that sits at about 20+ strong - the team is rich with experience so there will be plenty of opportunities to help you upskill in certain areas (mobile, Cloud etc).
You'll be supported by the Senior Test Automation Engineer day-to-day, and initially will focus on manual testing for the first couple of months, before pivoting to concentrate on automation testing and the wider testing scope. They have a bespoke automation solution which is Python based, so experience with Python would be preferred but any significant scripting language experience would also work.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop your automation testing experience in a highly technical environment.
You'll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Manual testing experience
**Automation testing experience (ideally Python, pytest, PyCharm etc.)
**Testing mobile applications, particularly iOS
**Experience with XCode or AndroidStudio or similar
**Functional testing experience
Their office is based in Glasgow city centre, walking distance from both Central Station and Queen Street - and you would be in the office once per week.
They've got great staff retention - a testament to the good working environment and interesting technical work. In addition to this they offer a very comprehensive package of benefits including a bonus, private medical insurance, life assurance, income protection, contributory pension and very flexible working, as well as a salary of up to £40,000.
