SUMMARY:
Global organisation requires an experienced National Sales Manager for their Earth Moving Equipment Division.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Matric, relevant Diploma and a minimum of  8 - 10 years technical sales, customer service and staff management experience is required
The National Sales Manager formulates, strategizes and oversees all sales activities nationally in order to grow divisional sales and build customer brand loyalty
This position reports directly to the General Manager
Extensive product knowledge of earthmoving, construction and industrial equipment
Good knowledge of the industry and customer requirements and expectations
Must be able to develop new sales strategies based on prior experience
Good leadership and communications skills
  • Oversee, allocate duties, discuss prospects, discuss call reports and monitor activities of the sales representatives based nationally
  • Identifies market opportunities and generates new leads for the sales representatives
  • Assists sales representatives and clients with compilations of offers, pricing and product specifications
  • Manages department expenses and purchases
  • Visits clients together with the sales representatives
  • Closes deals
  • Attends weekly / monthly meetings with the Sales team, management and customers
  • Identifies and compiles training schedules
  • Compiles sales forecasts and budgets
  • Analyses sales profitability
  • Reports to management on a monthly basis or, if necessary, as soon as a problem, customer concern is raised
  • Assists factories with product information and market intelligence
  • Liaises with Accounts, Sales, Central Admin, Workshop and Technical Product Support teams in order to determine product specifications and machine lead times
  • Ensure departmental compliance with legislation, company policies, procedures, guidelines and directives
  • Prepares sales forecasts and targets based on current market trends and ensures that the sales team works diligently towards endeavoring to meet and even exceed the target where possible
  • Compile sales forecasts and budgets and analyse sales profitability
  • Manage department expenses and purchases
  • Liaises with Accounts, Sales, Central Admin, Workshop and Technical Product Support teams in order to determine product specifications and machine lead times
