SUMMARY:
A company based in Centurion is seeking a Non-Technical Trainer lead To lead and manage the Non-Technical training team within Training Academy, as well as deliver Non-Technical training courses as per defined learning path and timelines on behalf of the company to ensure that certification targets are achieved. This entails developing the competence of Dealership Management and staff through delivery of appropriate training to the Dealer Network. It also includes the development of training plans and schedules to achieve KPI targets, as well as managing in conjunction with Instructional Design Lead the process of updating, customisation, and localisation of training material
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and Development
- Needs Analysis conducted annually with a bi-annual review
- Complete a demand plan, capacity plan and training calendars for Non-Technical Training by November of the current year for implementation the following year.
- The training plans would need to ensure certification target achievement and the Brand Training target requirements, i.e., Product Training, Launches, Projects.
- Guide the Instructional Design Team with input into training content design, localisation, development, and maintenance for Product, Sales, After Sales Non-Technical, Information Technology and Systems and other training courses
- Direct the development of new e-learning content, customise, and maintain existing e-learning content and support implementation, as well as to ensure that all training is designed as per the Brands requirements, with the Trainers and Instructional Design Team.
- Ensure that the training content for all training is updated and includes a Learner Guide, Presentation and Facilitator guide
- Achieve certification and training targets
- Strengthen a focus on digital and social media learning including micro-learning relevance balanced between instructor-led, on-line, and on-the-job options
- Ensure Cataloguing and version management of all training content
- Ensure that all training activities and materials meet with the relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety
- Manage course evaluations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Set relevant and meaningful questionnaires for all courses presented and test the delegates to ensure competence on the course content
- Make use of polls and online comments during VCT sessions to provide valuable feedback on session effectiveness
- Conduct regular quality assurance and moderation for each trainer, highlighting areas of improvement.
- Ensure stability and flexibility within a capable Trainer pool to train across portfolios. Trainer retention actively managed
- Manage total certification with quality assurance requirements, including general training quality
- Manage the performance of the Non-Technical trainers, including conducting performance appraisals as required to provide feedback on development areas
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Ensure high level of discipline is always maintained
- Prepare new Employee Announcement emails and conduct Induction sessions with new team members
- Conduct probation reviews for new members in your team
- Assist Financial Lead with the management of the annual budget
- Manage your team’s leave
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the progress of the training delivery status and
training recovery plan and forecast for the year.
Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Experienced Automotive Trainer of at least 5 years
- Thorough understanding of adult learning principles
- Thorough understanding of motor trade legislative requirements particularly pertaining to training and development
- An outstanding knowledge of the Automotive industry in South Africa
- Awareness of automotive retail processes and factors influencing competence development
- Ability to build excellent rapport and strong working relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills
- Expressly able to implement a coherent blended learning approach to training solutions
- Client-focused
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to work independently in a market with little supervision and using resources available
- A self-motivator who sustains focus on results and assumes accountability for the effective conclusion of projects/tasks
