nGAP Lecturer: Mechatronics

KEYPERFORMANCEAREAS

 The core purpose of this academic post is to facilitate and administer the learning process for students in modules pre sented by Nelson Mandela University at the undergraduate level, to do research, contribute to community engagement, and be involved in the core functions of the University. Lecture the following modules within the Mechatronics Department: Electronics, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors, Machine Design, Mechanical Design, Material Science, Engineering Drawings, and Strength of Materials.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Facilitate the learning processes and outcomes of the Department of Mechatronics.
• Perform academic engagement.
• Perform curriculum and course administration.
• Applicants will be required to register for and complete a PhD in Mechatronics in a maximum period of 3 years.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• In-depth knowledge of the theory and application in the relevant disciplines related to Mechatronics.
• Ability to facilitate learning at the undergraduate level.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Have the potential to contribute to the creation of knowledge by publishing research and involvement in relevant engagement activities.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team.

REQUIREMENTS

• MEng /MSc in Engineering (Mechatronics) with BEng or BSc in Engineering (Mechatronics).
• The Masters must be achieved with a minimum average of 70%.
• Be registered for, or qualify to register for a PhD in Mechatronics.
• Lecturing and / or industry experience will be an added advantage.
• A research record of peer-reviewed publications will be a recommendation.
