Job Position: Operations Manager (office automation industry)

Location: Johannesburg and Durban

Ref: 3894

Salary: KZN = R35 000 to R45 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification

JHB = R45 000 to R60 000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Operations Management or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in management, operations and leadership
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships amongst Managers, Partners and employees
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to successfully manage several different projects simultaneously
  • Assertive and strong personality
  • Business minded, hardworking, honest, driven and works extremely well under pressure


Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage and direct the day to day operations of the technical department
  • Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures to ensure the efficient and effective running of the technical team
  • Work closely with the Technical Director, Technical Manager and Security Manager
  • Oversee the effective running of customer service, installations and the warehouse
  • Build strong relationships by addressing customer issues and complaints in a timely manner
  • Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
  • Provide operational support and guidance to staff
  • Assist in employee appraisals, promotions, compensation and termination based on the performance review
  • Assist in developing operating and capital budgets
  • Monitor and control expense according to allotted budget
  • Assist in interviewing, recruiting and training candidates
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation for operational procedures and activities
  • Ensue adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Ensure team follows standard operating procedures for all operational functions
  • Conduct regular meetings with team to discuss issues, concerns, updates etc.
  • Support operational risk and audit process for the purpose of preventive maintenance
  • Improving and building upon the current technical service team
