SUMMARY:
Eye Practice in the Randburg area seeks an Opthalmic Assistant with some in-service training.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Preferably a trained Opthalmic Assistant who has done in-service training in an Ophthalmic practice
Level I and 2 exams. would be an advantage
Alternatively an Optometrist or Nursing sister interested in working from a different perspective
Ability to take an ophthalmic history,
Instil appropriate eyedrops,
Testing visual fields,
Do OCT and colour imaging of the eye as well as fluorescein angiography
Assist with minor procedures and intravitreal injections
Understanding of sterility + hygiene and making up of sterile packs
Admin work including motivations and authorisations, equipment cleaning
Liaison with reps for maintenance, stock take + medication orders.
