Optomechanical Engineer

Generating detailed high precision optomechanical system designs
Mange the manufacturing of the optomechanical systems
Select and research custom materials and components as required by the design
Design the assembly and integration processes for the designed optomechanical systems
Provide technical assistance to the production team when needed
Perform assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of the optomechanical systems to qualify newly developed systems
 
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Optics and optomechanics experience OR precision mechanics
Experience in guiding a conceptual design through to production and testing
Experience with AIT of optical systems making use of optical alignment instrumentation and optomechanical best practices
Optomechanical drawings using CAD
Working in a cleanroom environment
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to execute tasks timely and accurately
BE able to work independently as well as a team
Basic understanding of finite element analysis – able to interpret results for design improvement
Experience designing optomechanical systems for spaceborne applications – advantageous
Experience in Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens NX - advantageous

Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical Engineering OR Optomechanical Engineering
