POSITION INFO:

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Personal Assistant (PA) to support our Head Pastry Chef in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality, experience with procurement, and formal education. This role requires exceptional communication, time management skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and organizational support to the Head Pastry Chef.
• Manage scheduling, appointments, and travel arrangements.
• Handle communications, including emails and phone calls, on behalf of the Head Pastry Chef.
• Assist with procurement of ingredients, equipment, and supplies for the pastry section.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality control of materials.
• Prepare reports, order forms, and inventory tracking for the pastry department.
• Assist with event planning and special projects related to pastry preparation.
• Ensure that all pastry-related operational tasks are running smoothly and on schedule.
• Manage documentation related to culinary recipes, ingredient specifications, and food safety standards.

Key Requirements:

• Formal Education: A degree or qualification in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is essential.
• Hospitality Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Procurement Experience: Demonstrated experience in procurement, preferably within a kitchen or foodservice environment.
• Transportation: Must have access to a personal vehicle for travel purposes related to procurement and other duties.
• Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with suppliers, team members, and senior management.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proactive and Discreet: A self-starter who is resourceful and able to handle confidential information with discretion.

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

• Previous experience working with chefs or in a kitchen environment.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with kitchen inventory and order management systems.
