Payroll Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Well known global organisation requires a Payroll Supervisor for the Johannesburg North branch to manage a payroll of approximately 500 permanent staff members.

POSITION INFO:
Matric essential
Accounting / Finance or relevant Payroll Certificate / Diploma
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in HR / Payroll
Good solid knowledge and proof of experience on VIP Premier Payroll and SAGE 300 People
Salaried payroll tax experience is essential


DUTIES
The individual will oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely salary disbursements.
Ensure compliance with local labour laws and tax regulations, handle tax filings, manage employee benefits, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Supervise payroll staff, maintain payroll records, and implement payroll policies and procedures

Implements, maintain and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including wages, salaries, benefits, garnishee orders, taxes and other deductions
Ensure correct processing of leave and employee benefits and the maintenance of personal files
Ensures that all financial capturing and processing is done in accordance with company policies and procedures
E@syFile software experience and manage updating
Ensure accurate payroll updates, new employee engagement, terminations, job titles and changes to pay rates
Monthly reconciliation and submission of PAYE/SDL/UIF EMP201’s via EFiling
Monthly reconciliation and payment requests for 3rd party payments (Medical Aid/MIBFA/Alexander Forbes/Insurances ect)
Bi-Annual reconciliation and submission of EMP501 via E@syFile
Annual reconciliation and submission of COID & EMP501
Submission of month-end and GL Interface files to Finance Department
Monthly preparations of various EFT files
Ensure compliance with all Industrial labour and tax regulations
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, and internal controls
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Checking time sheets and the accuracy of pay computations
Making sure all necessary documents and reports are processed on time
Excellent business acumen
Excellent soft skills
Weekly, monthly, and annual reporting to accounting and finance department
Leave management – payroll annual and month to month reconciliations
