SUMMARY:
Large Manufacturing company requires experienced payroll administrator/ officer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:
  • SAGE VIP Payroll/ People 300 working knowledge and experience
  • Time & Attendance knowledge and experience
  • Sound knowledge and experience of PAYE, statuary compliance and understanding of employee benefits
  • Excel & Microsoft office is essential
  • Matric pass is a requirement
  • Degree or diploma in HR or Payroll would be an advantage
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working as a payroll administrator
  • Must be willing to work independently

Key Performance Areas

Payroll administration
  • Maintenance of both weekly- & monthly hourly payroll (Total staff compliment of not more than 250)
  • Full maintenance of payroll and leave administration
  • Ensuring timeous and accurate end-to-end processing of company payroll on SAGE VIP & People 300
  • Mandatory payroll reconciliation, journals and payment of PAYE, UIF & SDL as well as any 3rd party payments.
  • Responding to queries and concerns regarding remuneration and other HR related matters
  • Accurate and timeous reporting on month-end Payroll and HR reporting
  • Working on automation and limited manual intervention with T&A as well as Payroll
Disciplinary processes:
  • Assisting production with monthly performance reviews
  • Maintain records in terms of disciplinary action taken
  • Administration & filling:
  • Keep all staff files up to date
  • Maintain information on all service providers related to HR & Payroll
  • Update and maintain Job profiles in conjunction with the Team Leaders and HOD’s
  • Updating and maintaining all company policies and procedures as per direction and instructions
  • WCA: Compiling and submission of IOD documents on conjunction with H&S Officer
  • Yearly assistance with preparation documents for submission of Employment Equity Plans
Recruitment & Selection:
  • Advertising vacancies internally and externally
  • Shortlisting candidates as per the required specifications
  • Induction of new employees
Training & Development:
  • Maintain all training records: Training registers, certification, and evaluation documents
  • Leanerships: Managing learnership programme from Induction to scheduling training in accordance with Production and Training Provider.
  • Administration of Trade Certifications
BBBEE
  • Maintain BEE records and working side to side with the HR Manager
  • Liaising with various departments on the BEE requirements and information needed for submissions
  • Make sure all relevant information is correct and available
