Qualifications:

• BPharm degree
• Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Job Duties:

• Perform clinical interventions including Drug Utilisation Review (DUR)
• Finalise chronic Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) and special medicine pre-authorisation applications
• Handle medicine application escalations to the Clinical Committee for cases outside of clinical protocols
• Load medicine for members applying and going overseas for more than one month
• Handle the duplicate worklist efficiently
• Complete queries on the Helpline from the contact centre and doctors
• Manage operational and clinical tasks within Medicine Management

Required Qualifications:

• BPharm degree
• Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical interventions

Experience in the PBM environment will be advantageous

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of The Pharmacy Act, the Medical Scheme Act, Pharmacology, PMB and algorithms for ICD conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy

Working Conditions:

• Work in a healthcare facility
• Regular office hours 
• May require handling of sensitive medical information
