Our client, based in Samrand, Midrand (Gauteng), a forward-thinking organization committed to innovation and excellence in refrigeration solutions, is in the market for a Pipe Draughtsman to join their team.
POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS
- Matric
- Diploma in CAD Technologies (Mechanical, Multidisciplinary, or Architectural Draughting)
- Additional coursework in MEP services or HVAC piping would be an advantage
- 2–3+ years of experience in industrial design or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Revit, and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong spatial visualization skills; familiarity with SketchUp is advantageous
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create precise 2D and 3D piping layouts using software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Revit
- Develop detailed plant room models, piping systems, and skid-mounted solutions
- Produce P&IDs, isometric sketches, and tender drawings
- Conduct site visits to produce accurate As-Built and As-Installed drawings
- Resolve design conflicts during construction and commissioning phases
- Assist in preparing technical drawings and maintaining comprehensive drawing registers
- Coordinate services and identify clashes during BIM meetings
- Standardize Revit families for refrigeration components
- Manage drawing office tasks and represent the company in both internal and external BIM meetings
