Plant Millwright

SUMMARY:
Our client, a textile company, seeks a qualified Millwright to conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs on plant and equipment.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Job Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science essential.
• Section 13 Red Seal Millwright Trade Test.
• N4 Electro-Mechanical Certificate, Siemens PLC.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy industry.

• Maintenance Process (Scheduled):
  • Plan and execute; interpret instructions and plan maintenance and repair work.
  • Generate job requisitions for scheduled maintenance work.
  • Complete the permit to work prior to contractors commencing work on site.
  • Conduct Preventive Maintenance activities.
  • Perform change-overs in the production environment.
  • Record all Scheduled Maintenance to the Maintenance Connection system.
  • Perform plant start-ups.
• Maintenance Process (Breakdown):
  • Attend to machine breakdowns of a mechanical/electrical nature for all equipment under engineering functional control.
  • Record all breakdowns to the Maintenance Connection system to aid in determining the root cause and to accurately calculate KPI and Artisan utilisation data.
• Electrical Maintenance:
  • Design and construct Single/Three Phase circuits.
  • Design and install Electrical Wire Ways.
  • Construct, commission and do fault tracing on low voltage reticulation networks (220Vac, 110Vac, 24DC).
  • Install or replace and commission electrical equipment.
  • Wire and commission three phase electrical circuits.
  • Test and inspect a three-phase industrial/commercial installation.
  • Inspect, maintain and replace all electrical equipment.
  • Fault-find and repair (domestic appliances; single phase alternating current (AC) systems; three phase voltage electrical circuits).
  • Disconnect and connect electric motors; and joint low voltage cables.
  • Troubleshoot on Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Fabrication:
  • Mechanically cut, drill, punch and assemble fabrication materials.
  • Cut materials using the oxy-fuel gas cutting process.
  • Weld workpiece (oxy-acetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, gas metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding).
  • Remove metals using oxy-fuel and air-carbon arc gouging processes.
• Instrumentation Maintenance:
  • Construct Basic Electronic circuits.
  • Install Instrument impulse lines.
  • Maintain instrumentation equipment.
  • Carry out soldering and de-soldering procedures.
• Maintenance Process (Post Maintenance):
  • Test and commission machinery or equipment prior to handover.
  • Complete the Planned Maintenance Schedule-Maintenance connection.
• Engineering Projects - Project Initiation:
  • Contribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change control and work as a valuable team member.
  • Participate in the estimation and preparation of cost budget for a project or subproject and monitor and control actual cost against budget.
