Procurement Administrator

SUMMARY:
Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

- Review market conditions in an effort to drive performance improvement in the areas of pricing, payment terms, quality, delivery and flexibility
- Maintain strong relations with existing suppliers/vendors and evaluate potential new sources of supply.
- Analyze historical data, forecasts and operational challenges in an effort to institute and promote cost reduction programs supporting continuous improvements.
- Accurately maintain supplier/vendor price lists
- Review requisitions obtain quotations and process purchase orders with approved supplier/vendor, this includes material purchases and finished goods.
- Interpret production plan and SOH into materials requirement to process the purchase orders and ensure orders are delivered as scheduled
- Maintain monthly Procurement reports (BEE, Master Vendor, Risk Report, CAPIS Report).
- Resolve paperwork discrepancies with regards to receiving (delivery note), Purchase order and invoicing
- Maintain monthly Supplier Scorecard. Resolve discrepancies or issues relating to product quality, delivery or service. Requires supplier root cause analysis and corrective action to eliminate future occurrences.
- Co-ordinate new Vendor applications and Credit applications for approvals.
- Provide monthly Forecast requirements to all suppliers.
- Co-ordinate Purchase Return orders and Credit notes with supplier and finance. This task will also include NCR (Quality) requirements for Replacement-stock.
- Perform other duties as required by the Purchasing Manager
- Responsible to report any risks identified for Quality and Food Safety Management where food contact product is produced in the plant.
- Ensure on-going awareness of Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and Health and Safety Management
- Ensure housekeeping and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment

POSITION INFO:
Requirements

• University degree in Business/CIPS Diploma or equivalent with 0-6 Months of procurement experience within a manufacturing company
• A good understanding of operational procurement, procurement systems and processes, including good supplier relationship management.
• Negotiation skills and good communication skills with people inside and outside the organization are required
• Ability to organize diverse information, analyse and resolve disputes
• Strong understanding of factors that influence manufacturing cost and quality of operations is preferred
• Aged between 18 and 34
• Must be medically fit
• Must not have taken part in the YES Programme before
• Must be a South African Citizen
