Looking for a Product Owner for a growing software company in Aberdeen.
The company:
Started around 11 years ago, they are at about 200 headcount in total and are growing at a phenomenal rate. They have added around 100 new people to the business in the past 6 months and this is largely in the Development space. Currently they operate across an Agile environment, however they are really looking to embed this further, hence the growth in people in this area.
They are a software company and they focus on a very specific area of advanced analytics, developing a few different futuristic tools. Over the last few years, they have really started to gain momentum with sales and they operate globally, working alongside a number of very recognisable brands. They are based in the city centre and have moved into a brand new office in the past couple of years. They are ideally looking for someone to be in the office two or three days a week, however they could consider someone one day a week in the office (if they lived further away).
The role:
Being one of two or more Product Owners, you will work across multiple Dev teams and will work closely with the business in order to improve the product for the users. You'll collaborate with the Product Manager and be able to determine the business and customer needs. You'll be responsible for extracting feature ideas from epics into user stories and will collaborate with a number of dev teams. You will also work closely alongside the UI and UX teams to design and prototype new products and features and will additionally contribute to the product vision and roadmap.
The client are looking for someone with a good analytics or software background and at least a few years working within a software product environment. You'll be working with multiple and separate dev teams and will have to be comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
** Strong background in software product ownership
** Working alongside multi-discipline Dev teams
** Prioritise features and stories
** Maintain team backlog
** Collaborate with UX/UI designers to design and prototype new products and features
** Provide knowledge and understanding of product and feature goals to technology teams while they develop and test to your designs
** Create high-level documentation, working alongside the technical writers
** Defining features and distilling them into requirements, such as epics and user stories, and defining acceptance criteria
** Understanding of BI/data tools (beneficial)
