Production Foreman - CNC Workshop

SUMMARY:
Very well established company based in Germiston on the East Rand has an urgent vacancy for a Production Foreman (CNC Workshop and Project Milling)

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
Matric essential
10 years overall experience
5+ years in a Supervisory position
CNC Milling and CNC Lathe experience essential
Valid license
Own reliable transport

PURPOSE OF JOB: 
To ensure that all production work is done in a timely manner.
 
Scope of Authority: 
Main area of activities in CNC workshop and project milling machine.
 
Primary function:
Schedules work for all CNC Lathes, CNC Milling machines and project requirements.
Oversees setups and tool changes
Checks that first off and in-process inspection is being done.
Keeps records of daily production and forward this information to the Production Manager.
Makes random checks during the machining process.
Order tooling (keep spares) to prevent downtime on machines.
Performs under the direction of the Production Manager
Liaises with the Toolmaker for jig designs and refurbishing.
See that at all times they adhere all safety procedures
 
Ancillary Duties: 
Initiates requisitions for consumables.
Prepares components for outside machining / plating.
Advises Production Manager on stock levels.
Receives and checks quality of components from outside machining and plating.
Miscellaneous tasks as may be required from time to time.
 
Safety
Keeps work place clean and tidy.
Always performs duties in a safe and responsible manner and wears protective equipment as provided.
 
AUTHORITY
Signs clock cards/time sheets
Signs stores requisitions
To stop machining if quality is not to standard
